This time on Social study our task was to make a Sexxy paragraph by choosing 4 picture from Coraline scene. I have chosen 4 pictures that are from the scene, once we have finished choosing 4 picture the next thing that we need to do is write a Sexxxy Paragraph.
Here is the sexxxy paragraph that I have made:
Photos: | Camera Angle: |
S: In Coraline, point of view was used effectively to show the theme of “Looks can be deceiving”. E: For example, this shot we are introduced to Coraline. Point of view and dutch tilt is used to show where the character was standing, looking under a table. X: This made us understand that Coraline is looking for something variable. X: The director did this to show that if its something special is missing doesn’t get tired finding it because soon you will be able to find it. X: Coinciding with the camera angle ( which is the point of view and dutch tilt ) this made the movie better to watch because it feels like that you are in virtual reality. Y: This aspect can be compared to Charlie ( the cat) which found the mouse that was hiding the lost button when Coraline and Beldam where playing hide and seek.
S: In Coraline, Medium close up was used effectively to show the theme of “Be careful what you wish for”. E: This is demonstrated by medium close-up and close-up where Coraline was standing up beside her other mother. X: This made the audience a little bit creep out because of Coraline who is standing right beside her other mother. It’s a little bit scary because you don’t know what the other mother will do next to Coraline. X: This was done to make us feel nervous and build anxiety in our body. But no need to worry because everything will be alright at the end. X: This work well with the music and the colours that blend with the characters, making the scene more creepy. Y: This scene reminds me of always be thankful for what you have because someday you will probably regret the choice that you thought it was good.
S: In Coraline close-up was used effectively to show the theme of “Be grateful with what you have”. E: We see this when using the close up to show that Coraline is standing in the door getting attention from his dad (Charlie Jones). X: This makes us understand that Coraline wants attention from his dad who is doing a lot of works, you can tell this because of his eye. X: This was done to tell us to always care of other people that just need a little attention and not ignoring them when they need you. X: Combined with this is the fact that it makes the scene sadder because of the music and that Coraline looks depressed in the background. Y: This aspect can be compared to the other world where his dad is more playful but has evil feelings at the end.
S: In Coraline medium shot and the medium-long shot was used effectively to show the theme of “Don’t judge the book by its cover”. E: We see this when the dad is trying to talk to Mel jones but the mother doesn’t really care. X: This makes the audience think that her mother doesn’t really like her husband so she just ignores him. X: The purpose of this is to show everyone that even when you are busy doing work make sure to not ignore others. X: Coinciding with this is the fact that her mother looks angry at Coraline and Charlie jones. Y: This aspect can be compared to the other mother which is really kind to Coraline and the other father, but the only bad thing is that she is bad when you don’t follow instruction. Like when she said “Put this button if you want to be in our family”.
What Am I learning? I am learning to define the language of film using visual & sounds techniques.
How does this show my learning? This shows my learning by Explaining how a camera shots, and sounds and visual techniques are used to help tell the story using the example from the text.
What am I wondering as a result of this learning? For this result of my learning, I am wondering to learn more about another movie.
