Vanilla cupcakes!!

This Friday our group task was to make 12 vanilla cupcakes. While we were making our cupcake my group and I was working really hard to make the cupcake. My group is Vann, Janel, Elisha, Minseo, and I.  After we have finished making the mixture we now need to put the cupcake in the oven to bake. While the cupcake was getting baked, I and my other groupmate wash the dishes so that when we finish washing the dishes, the cupcake will also be finish baking.

After a few minutes, the cupcake is now cooked, when the cupcake came out of the oven I already like the smell of it. When we took the cupcake out of the oven we set it to the side to let it cool down. 2 minutes later our teacher gave us some icing to put in the cupcakes. My feedback about the cupcake is that the inside was really soft and the outside was crispy.

My group and I work really good together because we all followed the method carefully to get the cupcakes done.

Feedback for my stakeholder: I gave one to my friend and he said that the cupcakes were really nice and so appetizing.

Political poster

For power, to the people, my last task was to make a political poster about Barack Obama. I made my political poster in google drawing because I think that it is easier to do.

Here it is:

Barack Obama Poster

This week in power to the people our second task after we finish the timeline is to make a poster about the person that we chose in the list that was shown to us. I made a poster about Barack Obama because I think that he is a really nice person and has also inspired a lot of people because of his quotes.

Here is the poster that I made:

Mini Pastry Savouries

This week on Home economics our task was to bake the mini pastry savories. The miny pastry savories are really easy to make and have a really yummy taste. The look of the mini pastry savories is like a small pie, I really like the taste of the mini pastry because it has eggs and a little bit of ham. While you are making your Miny pastry savories you should remember to keep the pastry as cold as possible. And also remember to stack the pastry before re-rolling it, if you roll the pastry in a ball it will lose the flaky layers of it.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 sheet pre-rolled pastry
  • 1 egg
  •  salt
  • 1T Milk
  • Diced Bacon
Method:
  1. Using pastry cutters, cut circles to fit patty pans. Chill in the fridge.
  2. Mix: 1 egg, pinch of salt, and 1T milk.
  3.  Whisk together with a fork.
  4. Transfer egg mixture to a measuring cup.
  5. placed some thawed peas and corn in each pastry case.
  6. Carefully pour egg mixture into each case. Make sure you don't spill any.
  7. Bake at 200 celsius for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Let it cool and enjoy it.

Types of Government

These past few weeks we have to do the 5 tasks that were given to us in Hurumanu 6 ( The power of People). One of the task that we did is we to find out what are the different types of government. My group and I made a slide to present the different types of government. The politics that we need to know about our Democracy, Monarchy, Dictatorship, Communism, Totalitarianism, Oligarchy, Anarchy.

Here is the link for the site that we went through:

Home Economics

This week in home economics, we have to make pikelets. Pikelets are like a mini pancake but the texture and the shape are different. Pikelets are slightly thicker, which renders them heavy once they rise in the pan. When we have finished making the pikelets it tastes really delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 c Plain flour
  • 1 t Baking powder
  • 1/8 t salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 3/4 c milk

Method:

  1. Sift the baking powder and the salt in the bowl.
  2. In another bowl beat the egg and sugar with a whisk until pale thick.
  3. Add the egg mixture and the milk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Gently heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add or brush with a little melted butter. Drop a tablespoon of the mixture from the point of the spoon onto the surface.
  5. When bubbles start to burst on the top of the pikelets. Turn them over and cook the other side until golden.
  6. Place on a cooling rack.
  7. Serve with a sweet or savory topping.

Home Economics

This Friday in Home Economics our task was to make chocolate chip cookies. While we were making the cookie it already smells good, I was really excited once we finish making it. The chocolate chips cookie is easy to make you just need to follow the instruction really carefully. After a few minutes, the cookies are ready to be bake. While we were waiting for the cookies to be bake we have to wash the dishes so that when it finishes we don't need to wash a lot of dishes. 10 minutes later the chocolate chips are now ready to be taken out of the oven, to let it cool down. Once the cookies were cool down, we then need to taste it. The texture was good because it was soft in the inside and a little crispy in the outside. The taste was really good because it was sweet with the taste of chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of Chelsea white sugar
  • 1/2 cup Chelsea Soft brown sugar
  • 1 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp cups flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Method:

soften butter, and add both sugars and cream these together. Beat in the eggs and vanilla then mix in the dry ingredients. Roll into medium-sized balls, making sure the mixture is not too wet!put on a well-greased baking tray. They shouldn't spread too much so flatten slightly. Bake at 180 celsius for 8-10 minutes.

My week reflection

This week for my week reflection I will talk about two of the CARR (Commitment, Achievement, Resilience, and Respect) values that I did.

One of the CARR values that I did was respect, the way I showed respect in my school was I help one of my friends in health which did not know what to do. I help him by giving him some examples of the work that was given last week. The work that we have to do was make a table which then we need to write the 5 ways of wellbeing.

Here is what it looks like:

The second CARR values that I did was I showed resilience. How I showed resilience is I keep trying my best in maths until I get the question right. When I first got the question wrong I was really frustrated in my self because it was really complicated. But then when I ask one of my friends he told me the way to solve it. After a few talk with him, I started thinking that if I don't give up then I will solve the problems.

What we did last week in P.E

Last week in P.E we did some ping pong and also practiced how to do the juggle. For me, the most difficult part of P.E that we are doing is juggling because you have to really concentrate to catch the balls.

The first activity that I did was to played ping pong, I haven't played ping pong yet so it is kinda challenging to me. When I first played ping pong it was hard to hit the ball but then when I keep practicing it I think that I've gone better.

The second activity that our class did was juggle which was probably the hardest thing to do. If you keep trying you will soon get better.
