 This week in health we just finish our topic for Taha Whanau, our last task was to choose another topic that you would like to blog about. I and Christian made a slide that has five questions about bullying.

Text Purpose: The purpose of the movie/text is how were jews treated in the camp.

In those whose interest in those texts: People who want to watch this movie is those who like history about the olden days. It can also be 6+ above so that they can learn about it.

A statement that includes the text: The author of this movie explores how innocence is corrupted and may be shielded from the evil around it. It also explores the variety of relationships that are between the abused and their oppressor when not can exist without the other.

The Evidence: The Boy In The Striped Pajamas has a lot of good reviews and it is also one of the best selling films two years later after the first publish.

The Explanation/justification: In my opinion, this movie is for people who want or likes to know about what happened in the Holocaust.

Music Through Time

This week for Social Study, Our task was to find a song and explain how they had a hidden message to help the slave free. A long long time ago when the slave was still going they used the song to communicate with each other, but also the song that they're singing can't understand the European. 

The song helps the slave to give them hope and uplift themself.  Songs are also used for church, funerals and other things like a wedding. Sometimes the way slave relay secret message to help them scape is by also singing a song. 

Who is Harriet Tubman?

Harriet Tubman was a girl who escapes slavery and helped thousand of slave escape. She did that by leading them to the Underground Railroad. She was born in  Dorchester County, Maryland, United States and died on the 10th of March 1913. 

Slavery ended in April 1865 when the slave said they need to end this slavery. The civil war started and killed a bunch of slaves, but in the end, they have ended slavery.

This song has a lot of meaning to it, for example, God's gonna trouble the water. That means when they go in the water all the smells that they have will be gone so the dogs and other Europeans cant smell them if they're scaping. 

How is the event still significant today?

From my perspective the event is still significant today because rasism is still in this world. Some people doesen't care others so what they do is say other words to them or be rasis. I think we can stop rasism if we try to take care of each other because our world need peace.

Model Atom

 Aim: To make a model atom

Method:

1. Choose an atom to make(one between Hydrogen and Neon)
2. Work out how many protons, neutrons and electrons it has.
3. Assign protons and neutrons to a particular colour bead.
4. Get a ball of blue tack and stick the protons and neutrons to this to make your nucleus.
5. Cut out the appropriate electrons shells and draw on the electrons with vivid. 
6. Connect the nucleus and the electrons shells with a piece of string.
7. Create a label to go above the model so people know what you have created.

Discussion:  My discussion about the model atom is that I chose to do Carbon. Carbon represents C in the periodic table and common ion. Before I have made the Model atom the first thing I did was work out how many number of protons, electrons and neutrons there are. After finding out how many protons, electrons and neutrons there are, I found out that Carbon has 6 protons, 6 electrons and 6 neutrons. The way I arrange my Model atom is by putting 2 small dots in the first small circle and another 4 small dots in the big circles. The mass number of an atom is the total number of protons and neutrons. While the atomic number represents the number of protons. 2 Facts about carbon is that the Atoms are the smallest particles that makeup elements. And the second facts about carbon is that Atoms are mostly empty space.    

Conclusion:  My Model atom that I have made work as I expected. The one thing that I would change is the way I made the atom is that maybe I can make it tidier.

Text purpose: To inform us that we always need to respect our environment for our future generations. If we don't respect our environment bad things will happen to us, for example, if you cut all the trees in the world we won't have any more oxygen like we have now.

In the whose interest in this text? The people who are willing to watch this movie is the people that are 12 people under. This can help them understand the future generation that they will have. 

A statement that includes the text- The image in the Lorax trailer, directed by Dr Suess, suggest future, success, and the generation that the world will have.

The evidence- There are many positive reviews about this movie such as "there's little scary stuff, and the pro-environmental message is a positive one."

The explanation/justification- I believe that this movie is for kids that need understanding about our world and theirs.

Cyber Safety

 

This week in ICT our teacher has told us that we needed to make a blog post about cyber safety. What I did in my slide is I created 5 things that you need to do to stop getting bullied or scam online, check my slide to see a few tips.

321 RIQ- English 2020

Today in English our teacher has thought us a new thing that my class haven't know yet. The strategies we have learnt today is the 321 RIQ each letter has meaning to it. 321 RIQ is like a strategy of reflection, we have to do this every time we came into the class.  The meaning of the first letter is 3R, 3R means we need to write about three things that we remember about from our last lesson in English. The second letter stands for 2I, the meaning of it is what is the 2 new things that we have learned in this lesson. The final last letter is called 1Q, we need to write about 1 question that something we didn't understand/ would like to know more about. 

 321 RIQ

The 3 things that I have to remember from yesterday lesson is that if we don't talk when someone is talking our teacher will give us 100$ at the end of the year. The second things that I have to remember from our lesson yesterday are that when you want to ask a question you have to put your hands up not just say the answer without putting your hand up. Lasting that I have remembered from yesterday is that we need to do this every once a week. 

2 insight from this lesson that I learnt is the 2 new words that I haven't known yet which is the (Fallacy, Enigma). The second things that I learnt this lesson the 321 RIQ.

1 question that I would like to know more about is what happen when you forgot 321 RIQ.

What I did in summer holiday.

In our school summer holiday 2020, I had a lot of things that I had planned to do but most of them I didn't do because I was a little busy. At my first day of the summer holiday, I didn't do anything fun because all I did was a play on my phone(Call Of Duty and Pubg). A few weeks later on Saturday, my friends invited me to go to the west field, what we did there was go to time zone and play some arcade games. I like playing bowling there it was enjoyable. After several hours of playing in timezone, my friend and I went back inside Westfield and we just walk around. 

In the third week of the summer holidays, my family and I went to Akaroa. We saw a lot of sea lion and took a picture from a far distance. I enjoy my summer holidays because I get to hang out with my family and friends.  

The last week of summer holiday my family and I went to Hanmer Springs where we can swim. When we have arrived in Hanmer spring I saw two giant big slides, I want to try the slide so I ask, my parents, if I can go. I like the Conical thrill slide because when you're going down it feels like your soul is getting taken. For my summer 2020, I enjoyed it.
