Home Economics

Last Friday in home economics we have been told to bake Chocolate Muffin. When we were making our chocolate muffin there was something wrong happen. That bad thing was we did not melt the butter surely liquid, so when we put the butter into the mixture it did not come out as we plan. My group had to restart the process of making the mixture from making the chocolate muffin. In the end, even though we had some difficulties making the chocolate muffin I think that we all work together with us a team to fix the problem.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Self Raising Flour
  •  1/2 c Caster Sugar
  • 100g Butter, melted
  • 1 c Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 c smashed Banana's (2-3)

Preparation:

  1. Mix Flour, Salt, Caster sugar & Chocolate bits in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl melt butter then add milk, and egg beat to combine.
  3. Mash & measure the bananas and add to liquid ingredients.
  4. Tip liquid mixture into dry ingredients. Fold Carefully. do not over mix.
  5.   Carefully spoon muffin batter into prepared muffin tins. ( line with paper muffin cases)
  6. Optional topping: Mix 1 T sugar & 1/2 t  Cinnamon and sprinkle over top of muffins. Drop some Chocolate bits on each.
  7. Bake at 220 celsius for 12-15 minutes, testing to check if the muffin is cooked. Cool for 2-3 minutes before removing from pans.

  1. Hi Lars.Your muffins look really good. They have a good rise and a good quantity of chocolate chips. I am pleased to see you acknowledge the issue of the melted butter and how you had to start again. The final product is not commented on. How could you ensure that you do not repeat the same mistake next time you make muffins?Did you do a sensory evaluation of it?
