Sgnificance of WW1 - The Last Post

Today in social study our task was to listen to the video that was called the ANZAC DAY 2019- GALLIPOLI DAWN SERVICE. Once we have finished watching it we now need to answer the 4 questions down below.

When do you hear this song? We hear this song during the ANZAC day dorm service and it can also be played at a soldier funeral. The lone notes are played by a military bugler trumpeting the notes of the song of the lost, the fallen, the dead.

Why is this song significant/important to New Zealand? This song is important to remember what they have done for us in New Zealand. The Last post is significant to New Zealand because it remembers those who have served in the war.

What is the History behind the Last post- why was it played and when? The history behind The Last Post is to tell other soldiers that their activity is than. However, that was used ages ago today this is a song to represent those soldiers who have to serve and fall in the war. This song is played every year on the day of April 25.

What does this song represent? The song is to remember the soldier who has fought and serve in the war. The Last Post is played to mourn the dead, to honour those lost in wars, skirmishes, and battles both near to home and in far-flung locales. If you have heard its soft, melancholy, and mournful notes, it is a familiar to tune — most familiar to those who have served their country.

  1. Hi lars,
I really enjoyed your blog post and admired how much information you had put it in. It seems like you have learned a lot about ANZAC day and the history behind it and how it connects to music. I think you should elaborate more on the question ´What is the history behind The Last Post´. The first sentence seems to not have been finished and it doesn't carry on onto the the next question. Also just one more think I you should improve on is creating a more detailed introduction maybe adding what you thought about the work? overall you had really good work and it was very informative. So well done!
