What is Filtration?

Aim: To make a filtration plant using household material.

What is the filtration?

Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass.

Materials

1.Pop bottle top 

2.Rocks

3.Coarse sand

4.Fine Sand

5.CoffeFilterer

6.Elastic Sand

7.Pop Bottle bottom

8.Dirty Water

Examples are:

1.  Tea Bag
2.  Water Filter
3.  Aquarium filter
4. swimming pool 

Process - 

Step 1

Cut the Plastic bottle in half

Step 2

Put the top half upside down 

Step 3

Add layers of Stone, Coarse sand and fine sand in the top of the plastic bottle.

Step 4

Get 1 cup of water 

Step 5 

Pour the dirty water 

Step 6

Observe how the water flows now the water has to be not flowing and
if it’s clear, then you’re all good to go and you did a great job but if it’s still dirty, maybe you should fix it and try again

Measurement

The water filled the quarter of the plastic bottle, But before that happen the water came so fast. It’s not very clear though however there wasn’t any dirt to it. 

Our experiment turned out pretty good I hope that we will do an experiment again in science.
